How to Remove Stains from Menstrual Cups and Discs | The Easy Way or Hard Way
Переглядів 2,8 тис.Місяць тому
Menstrual cups are going to stain. You can either learn to live with their new appearance or freshen them up with a few stain removal options. The easiest way to remove stains is to do a peroxide soak for 2-3 hours but some brands reccomend against this. The alternative is to use a cloth to wipe away surface stains. You can remove yellowing (not surface stains) with sunlight! As long as you are...

    I've tried using a disc for the first time this month (I've never used a disc or cup before, only tampons and pads). I didn't have too much trouble inserting it, it didn't leak. Unfortunately I wasn't able to keep it in for too long because as soon as I sat down, I could feel it and it started to hurt 😢😢😢 It didn't hurt while I was standing or walking, I could barely even feel it otherwise. I tried it on 2 different days during the period and the same happened. I got the one with the loop. I'm wondering now if the problem is that it might be too big...

    I had so much trouble with the Lily cup suction and ended up switching to the Flex cup and have not had a single issue getting it out.

    Do kegels as if your life depends on it. I use a diva cup and the first time I used it I introduced my whole finger and couldn't find it. I reminded myself that it had to be inside and started the kegels. It was so fast to reach it. It was hard to break the suction 😅

    I love that you use a lily cup for this video since that's what I use since I do have a high cervix. (Measured easily by following your videos!) I've only been using a cup for three cycles and getting it out is the thing that changes depending where I am in my cycle so far. Towards the end it's harder. I think you have to go a bit higher than you expect on the lily cup since the base feels more solid since it's longer and skinnier. That's my only complaint about it. I did try the hello disc to solve the removal issue which was easy to remove but still not for me. Going back to the lily cup after, I did notice I needed to get the cup down a bit, pinch higher up the cup, and (this might just be me) pull the cup forward, not down. It's soft enough so it bends and maybe breaks the seal better. Honestly not entirely sure but pulling it forward, I could feel it come out easier.

    I just got my first cups today, insertion is pure nightmare. It doesn't open inside but sure when i try to pull it out it does and when i put it back again it closes.. like i rather have bladder pressing tampon on than this, waste of time and money

  • @chimmy018

    This morning I struggled for an hour to take out my cup. I was sweating and started panicking.. My cup experience is different each time. Some days I'm able to easily take it out but some days it's a nightmare. On top of all of this, trying to break the suction thingy is that my fingers are short and makes it even harder.. so I just do the gentle pushing thing and reach the base by squatting, pinch the base and take it out.. Taking out menstrual cup scares me but they're so comfortable🥲

    My first attempt at using the Lena cup (small size) resulted me panicking, laying down on a towel, while my husband had a spelunking adventure with his hand. 0/10 do not recommend...but now I know I have a high cervix. I once had to wipe his butt for him after he had brain surgery so now we're even.

    I got a disc stuck once because the disc rotated and I couldn’t get the string. In the end I had to turn my hand to hook over the top of the rim. It was a mess but I got it out.

  • @keitochan001
    @keitochan001 22 години тому

    I’d like to put my two cents for someone who has reach issues. You’ll probably have reach issues if you notice your fingers are short and you have difficulty reaching over the pubic bone. You make also have reach issues if your arms are short and your torso is long, so it’s hard to stick your hand inside you to go digging a menstrual cup out. For me, it’s not an option to break the seal without pulling the cup out. There are some cups can work with my anatomy and others I won’t even try because I know. Riskier cups tend to be the cups where the suction is too great and they tend to also be the firmer cups that I feel them pop open when inserted. Softer cups are better with a loop for removal.

    I experienced this twice with the Honey pot size 1 and the tiny little Cora cup size 1 I already knew I have a giantly high cervix but I still tried these little cups because I was scared of the bigger cups I learned my lesson , I was wrestling to get those cups out of me , eventually I did with one finger clawing the cups out huffing and puffing

    • @PeriodNirvana
      @PeriodNirvana 23 години тому

      And Honey Pot size 1 is not a short cup! 😲 That is impressive. Longer cups with longer stems canal so come in smaller diameters in size, but you definitely want to match the length to your cervix height bc not being able to reach the cup is so scary!

    • @daysoftheboo
      @daysoftheboo 23 години тому

      @@PeriodNirvana the Honeypot size 1 was too small for me LOL Using the Cora cup size 1 was a bigger mistake, after I got over my fear of using bigger longer cups I went for the Juju cup model 3 And it was perfect! Much easier to remove but hard to put in because it's such a hard dense cup and I was leaking blood from it because it's too narrow, but now I've been using the Diva cup size 1 another perfect cup but I was still leaking blood so on my next period I'm going to try the Diva cup size 2 since it's a little wider at the top, hopefully I don't leak blood with this one fingers crossed 🤞

    To all the people who are scared/anxious with a "huge" cup inside them, trust me it's worth it once you get it right. Its highly economical, risk-free and leak-free (provided all sterilization and proper techniques are used). It took me 2 years to mentally prepare for it and finally get it right. Now, I am loving it. Its comfortable girls! Trust me, it will be worth it!

    When I got my first period I told my mom and she started telling me what a period was, so I asked "When did you get your first period?" She said "I got my first period at school, I was 12 years old when I got it. I saw that there was blood so I asked the teacher if I could go to the bathroom. He said yes so I made my own pad with toilet paper. So I put the toilet paper in my underwear." Then I was like "WHAT?! 😂😂" (I got my first period at 10.)

    Okay newbie here. Invested in a cup that I just could never figure out, hated tampons but wanted to give the disposable flex disc a try. That stuff glided in like a dream, however I was afraid to use my finger to push it back/tuck it because I was afraid I would never find it again… like it would somehow be sucked up by my vagina. Yes I know it’s not going anywhere, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to get t finger around the rim to remove. I’m just going through reusables and throwing them away and I’d hate to waste them.any advice to get past that anxiety and tips for removal would be helpful. Unfortunately for the life of me I can’t figure out my cervix height.

It doesnt "lock into place" behind my pelvic bone and when i do the bear down thing it slides a lil is that normal? Also do u use disks for discharge or pretty light periods or is it only for bloody periods?
